SoHo Street Art

Over the past week, local artists have reclaimed SoHo storefronts by painting the boarded-up windows that line the neighborhood's streets. The plywood boards hastily applied to protect the stores provided the ideal blank canvas, allowing local artists to uplift the community and bring some energy to the largely empty streets.

The SoHo Memory Project is creating a SoHo Quarantine Time Capsule, a record how the community is living through a worldwide pandemic and a worldwide social justice movement while in quarantine. All are invited to share images, video, audio, and text that document SoHo’s here and now to yukie@sohomemory.org or use #SMPtimecapsule by June 30, 2020 for inclusion in this special collection within the SoHo Memory Project Archive.

Special thanks to Coral Dawson for taking these photos and sharing them with us!
